There are six different marking pattern combinations that can occur when breeding boxers, in both Genotype and phenotype. While the actual distribution of genes in an individual litter may stray from the expected. Most will result within the expectations.

The six patterns are:

1. Plain x Plain (SSxSS) 100% Plain (SS)
2. Plain x White (SSxSwSw) 100% Flashy(SSw)
3. Plain x Flashy (SS x SSw) 50% plain  (SS) 50% Flashy (SSw)
4. Flashy x Flashy (SSw x SSw) 25% plain, (SS)  50% Flashy (SSw) 25% white
5. Flashy x White (SSW x SwSw) 50% Flashy (SSw) 50% white (SwSw)
6. White x White ( SwSw x SwSw) 100% white

So what this is saying is if you want a bunch of puppies that are flashy, you need to either breed your male or female to a white or plain boxer depending on what you own.. we tend to breed for Flashy puppies... we believe the more white on the pups the prettier they are.. but everyone has their own personal preference...
